Hộ chiếu 2023

Price: We expect the 2023 Honda Passport midsize SUV will have a starting price of approximately $38,000.

The 2023 Honda Passport is a freshly updated midsize SUV that has room for five in its spacious passenger cabin, a highly refined V6, plus a particularly roomy cargo bay. Behind the rear seats, you’ll find more than 41 cubic feet of trunk space – that’s a lot of room even for an SUV this size.

Easy to drive and filled with an impressive roster of standard safety and comfort features, the 2023 Passport should roll into a new model year with relatively few changes. We expect some new colors, minor option package changes, and perhaps a wider roster of Honda Performance Development (HPD) extras.

Modifications for 2023 will be rather limited because the 2022 Passport ushered in a host of changes, most notably a more rugged-looking exterior and a new off-road-themed Trailsport model that is primarily cosmetic in nature.

The 2023 Passport will continue to be a family-friendly SUV that shows a strong relationship to the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. Perhaps the 2023 Trailsport will gain some actual off-road upgrades to support its rugged appearance.

Under the hood of the 2023 Honda Passport is a 280-horsepower V6 engine that’s paired to a 9-speed automatic and coupled to your choice of front- or all-wheel drive. This is a refined and efficient powertrain that has plenty of grunt for highway driving, not to mention a reasonable degree of towing capability.

While the 2023 Passport is on the pricey side, the quality and layout of the interior prove this is a sport-utility that’s been built to last. Direct rivals to the Honda Passport include the Hyundai Santa Fe, Chevrolet Traverse, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Subaru Ascent.

2023 Honda Passport Pricing

We expect the entry-level 2023 Honda Passport in front-wheel-drive format will have a starting price of roughly $38,000.

This is notably higher than some competing models, such as the 3-row Mazda CX-9 and Kia Telluride. To its credit, the base 2023 Passport comes with a number of features that cost extra on many of its direct rivals.

The 2023 Passport Trailsport is expected to start at roughly $43,000, while the range-topping Elite model will be closer to $46,000.

KBB Vehicle Review and Rating Methodology

Our Expert Ratings come from hours of both driving and number crunching to make sure that you choose the best car for you. We comprehensively experience and analyze every new SUV, car, truck, or minivan for sale in the U.S. and compare it to its competitors. When all that dust settles, we have our ratings.

We require new ratings every time an all-new vehicle or a new generation of an existing vehicle comes out. Additionally, we reassess those ratings when a new-generation vehicle receives a mid-cycle refresh — basically, sprucing up a car in the middle of its product cycle (typically, around the 2-3 years mark) with a minor facelift, often with updates to features and technology.

Rather than pulling random numbers out of the air or off some meaningless checklist, KBB’s editors rank a vehicle to where it belongs in its class. Before any car earns its KBB rating, it must prove itself to be better (or worse) than the other cars it’s competing against as it tries to get you to spend your money buying or leasing.

Our editors drive and live with a given vehicle. We ask all the right questions about the interior, the exterior, the engine and powertrain, the ride and handling, the features, the comfort, and of course, about the price. Does it serve the purpose for which it was built? (Whether that purpose is commuting efficiently to and from work in the city, keeping your family safe, making you feel like you’ve made it to the top — or that you’re on your way — or making you feel like you’ve finally found just the right partner for your lifestyle.)

We take each vehicle we test through the mundane — parking, lane-changing, backing up, cargo space and loading — as well as the essential — acceleration, braking, handling, interior quiet and comfort, build quality, materials quality, reliability.
